Explore the islands of the South Pacific with Windstar Cruises aboard the beautiful 148-guest Wind Spirit.

Wind Spirit is a head-turning four-masted sailing ship. The vessel joined Windstar Cruises’ fleet in 1988 and quickly became popular with discerning travellers who loved the ship’s private yacht-style ambience, open teak decks, and comfortable stateroom accommodation. Wind Spirit offers ample facilities – including a spa and a water-sports platform – The ideal choice if you’re seeking a small-ship cruise holiday in the South Pacific.

Wind Spirit cruises are available throughout 2025 and 2026 on a 7-11 night basis. Almost every cruise departs from Papeete in Tahiti, and the itineraries commonly feature calls to several of French Polynesia’s most idyllic archipelagos, including the Society Islands and Tuamoto Islands. For the ultimate South Pacific experience, we recommend combining your Wind Spirit sailing with a resort stay, which we can add to your holiday package as either a pre or post-cruise option.

Wind Spirit: Stateroom & Suite Accommodation

The accommodation available on Wind Spirit provides a choice of three separate categories. In keeping with this ship style, none of the staterooms or suites offers private balconies; however, all benefit from large picture windows.

Accommodation categories:

  • Standard Stateroom
  • Deluxe Stateroom
  • Owner’s Suite

The decor in all accommodations is tasteful, combining rich woods and natural fabrics with light neutral colours. The ensuite bathrooms boast L’Occitane amenities and complimentary robes and slippers. The sitting areas benefit from a flatscreen entertainment system, a fully-stocked mini-fridge and a small writing/vanity desk.

Wind Spirit: Dining & Restaurants

The main restaurant on Wind Spirit is called ‘AmphorA’; which hosts the evening service in a bright, airy space with large picture windows. The cuisine is varied, with a choice of five to six different menus with enough choice to suit even the most discerning palate.

For a more informal dining option, head to ‘Candles Grill’ on the ship’s top deck. Here you can enjoy freshly grilled meat, fish and vegetarian cuisine served under the stars (weather permitting). Alternatively, you can also arrange to have your evening meal served in your stateroom.

Breakfast and lunch are served in the ship’s Veranda restaurant, which offers indoor and outdoor seating in a comfortable environment. Both mealtimes are buffet-style, with a live cooking station available for made-to-order omelettes, burgers and other tasty treats.

Entertainment, Activities & Facilities

Cruising on Wind Spirit is an extremely informal experience, and as such, there is no official entertainment programme. During the evenings, most guests will head to the ship’s main lounge to enjoy music from the ship’s resident trio.

During the day, guests are encouraged to disembark the ship and join up with one of the many shore excursions available, which include everything from hikes to Moorea’s spectacular Belvedere Lookout Point, to jet ski adventures in Taha.

Alternatively, you can also make use of Wind Spirit’s water-sports marina, which is equipped with banana boats, windsurf boards and snorkel/scuba equipment.

Other facilities include:

Library
Swimming Pool
Sauna
Gym
