The most recent new build from Viking Cruises will carry the name Viking Vesta. As per the company’s website, Vesta is scheduled to enter service in mid-2025.

Following the construction of Viking Vela, Viking Vesta will surpass the size of previous new builds.

Vesta, the latest addition to the brand’s ocean cruise fleet and the 12th since the launch of the Viking Star in 2015, distinguishes itself with enhanced dimensions – it is now ten metres longer and two metres wider than its predecessors.

The additional space enabled Viking to incorporate more staterooms, increasing the ship’s capacity to accommodate 998 guests.

Viking’s website showcases part of Viking Vesta’s inaugural program. The new build, commencing service in early July, will introduce a series of Mediterranean cruises.

The schedule offers voyages ranging from seven to 21 nights, exploring various regional destinations such as the Greek Islands, the French Riviera, and the Adriatic Sea.

One of the itineraries is the 12-night “Mediterranean Odyssey,” sailing from Venice to Barcelona, showcasing destinations in Italy, Croatia, Greece, Monaco, France, and Spain.

During its maiden season, Viking Vesta is poised to offer two cruises to Northern Europe and Iceland. The 14-night voyages, sailing to Iceland, Portugal, Spain, England, and Ireland, follow the ship’s inaugural cruise in July.

According to Viking Cruises, Vesta is intended to be an all-veranda small ship designed to “dock where larger ships cannot.”

Onboard, the 47,000-tonne ship offers an array of facilities, including a complete wellness centre, two specialty restaurants, a main dining room, and a theatre.

Additionally, Vesta features multiple bars and lounges, a winter garden, two pool decks, and various stateroom categories, including the Owner’s Suite.

The most extensive onboard accommodation is the multi-room, 140-square-metre suite, featuring amenities such as six dining areas, a private library, an ocean-view dry sauna, and more.
