GO IN SEARCH OF THE BIG 5 ON A AFRICA SAFARI CRUISE
A voyage to Africa wouldn’t be complete without an exciting day on Safari, and there are many luxury cruise lines offering this experience as part of their Africa cruise itineraries, making it even easier to go in search of the ‘Big Five’: African lion, African elephant, African leopard, Cape buffalo and rhinoceros.
Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth and Richards Bay all offer the chance to head out in search of some of Africa’s most incredible wildlife and they are opportunities that simply cannot be missed. Durban offers the Tala Game Reserve; East London offers the Mpongo Game Reserve; Port Elizabeth offers the Addo Elephant Park, Karlega Game Reserve and the Pumba Game Reserve; and Richards Bay offers Hluhluwe Game Reserve, St. Lucia Wetland Nature Reserve, Zulu Croc Reptile Park and the Zulu Nyala Game Reserve. Kruger National Park is also sometimes offered on voyages that call into Maputo in Mozambique, but this is quite often an excursion that involves an overnight at the reserve.
All the above are offered on voyages with Regent Seven Seas Cruises, but you can also find the majority as excursion options with Crystal Cruises, Silversea, Oceania Cruises, Cunard Line and Seabourn.
