Far East Cruise to Japan
Japan consists of over six thousand islands located east of China between the Sea of Japan and the North Pacific Ocean. Many of the islands are very small and consist of volcanoes and mountains, the four largest islands being Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu.
There is a variation of climate throughout Japan due to the islands stretching north to south. This shows from region to region through cuisine and culture. Many festivals and cultural events are held throughout the year including the Lantern Festivals, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony and the Kite-Fighting Festival.
As you cruise Japan you are sure to be intrigued by the history, culture and stunning scenery of each island. There are many beautiful gardens through the country with rare wild orchids and traditional Japanese architecture.
A popular port of call when cruising Japan is Osaka, this port city located on Osaka Bay in southern Japan was originally the capital of Japan and is one of the largest cities throughout the archipelago.
