Earlier today, Cunard announced the launch of “The Next in a Fine Line”, Queen Anne, has been delayed.
The company has released the following statement:
“Due in part to unforeseen events that have occurred in recent years, the shipbuilding industry, like many other industries, has faced numerous challenges, including energy shortages and global supply chain constraints. As a result, our much-awaited new ship Queen Anne will arrive slightly later than planned.”
The maiden cruise – which sold out two years prior to the ship’s inauguration – was scheduled to depart on 4 January 2024 but has been re-scheduled to early May 2024. The company explained:
“We have automatically transferred guests booked or waitlisted on the maiden voyage to the new seven-night maiden voyage, which will depart from Southampton on 3 May 2024, visit La Coruna on 5 May 2024 and Lisbon on 7 May 2024 and then return to Southampton on 10 May 2024.”
Queen Anne is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Venice, Italy. You can head to our blog to learn more about the ship, including the public spaces onboard.
