This week we have been asking members of The Cruise Line team to tell us about their favourite cruise memories. There was no brief as such – they could talk about a ship they’ve been on, a destination they’ve visited or a dining experience that they’ll never forget.

My best cruise memory was onboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Mariner many years ago sailing into Venice. Along with the beautiful classical music, there was a narrator who explained the history of Venice, the population, the flood defences, and the different islands and their various functions (one is the cemetery).
We docked in San Basilio which is on the Giudecca Canal (just along from the famous Grand Canal), and it’s so much nicer than the Stazione Maritime where the larger ships dock. You feel like you are docked in the centre of Venice Island. It was absolutely stunning, and a beautiful day which definitely helped

I’ve only been on one cruise and it may sound a bit cliché but my favourite memory is actually stepping on Azamara Journey for the first time. I was so nervous as it was my first time abroad on my own and as soon as I saw the friendly faces of the staff I felt comfort, relaxed and all the anxiety I had just disappeared. When I got onboard and after I unpacked I went for a look around the ship and still remember the complete peacefulness everywhere I went.

My favourite memory has to be joining my first ocean cruise with Windstar Cruises. Sailing round-trip from Barcelona aboard Star Pride, the 7-night sailing centred around the Monaco Grand Prix, so alongside some great seats at the event, we also enjoyed daily talks about the history of the race from motorsport commentator Bob Varsha. While the Grand Prix was the focus of the itineraries, we also had the opportunity to explore several other stunning destinations, including St Tropez.

My favourite cruise memory is dining in Prego onboard Crystal Serenity. Prego is an Italian restaurant which is one of my favourites. When walking into Prego there was such a great atmosphere and we were sat next to two lovely couples. It was so nice speaking to people and getting their recommendations, one said Prego offers the best beef carpaccio in the World so of course, we had to have it. Our waiter was very attentive and encouraged us to try everything we could, all the food we consumed was excellent along with the wine paired to the meal. If there was only one restaurant on a cruise ship I could go back to then Prego would be the one.
