100The most recent addition to the Silversea Cruises‘ expedition fleet, Silver Origin is a 100-guest capacity ship offering an exciting programme of Galapagos Islands cruises. Purpose-built for cruising the Galapagos, she is considered the most luxurious ship in the region and combines Silversea’s customary onboard experience with expedition-style facilities such as Zodiacs and water-sports equipment.
Silver Origin Accommodation
There are eight grades of accommodation on Silver Origin, all of which offer ocean views and butler service. The suites are elegantly appointed and equipped with all the necessary facilities you will need for an enjoyable cruise, including ample storage space, an entertainment system and climate control.
One of the accommodation’s most distinctive features is the ‘Horizon Balcony’, which gives you the option of shutting a floor-to-ceiling window located at the edge of the balcony. Available in selected suite grades only, the Horizon Balcony effectively stretches the overall length of the suite and also provides a way to shut out the elements during inclement weather.
Silver Origin Dining
There are two main dining venues on Silver Origin. The first is The Restaurant, which can accommodate all guests in a single seating and serves up a menu consisting of international favourites and local Ecuadorian cuisine, all of which are accompanied by a hand-picked collection of regional wines. The Grill is Silver Origin’s alternative dining option, and here you have the opportunity to dine outside and choose to experience Silversea’s excellent ‘Hot Rocks’ concept, with steak and seafood cooked at your table on hot stones of lava.
Silver Origin Public Spaces & Facilities
Many of the public spaces and facilities on Silver Origin are designed to work in harmony with the natural beauty of the Galapagos Islands. As such, you can expect light, airy spaces decorated in a palette of calming, neutral colours. One such area is the Basecamp Lounge, which is located close to the Zodiac embarkation point and is used daily to host lectures and presentations from the onboard guides and experts.
The Explorer Lounge offers both inside and outside seating and boasts a fire-pit that is perfect for those evenings when the heat dies down, while the Observation Lounge provides excellent panoramic views from the front of the ship and is the ideal place to relax with a book chosen from the extensive onboard library.
