Last week, there was cause for celebration in the cruise industry as Silversea become the latest cruise line to restart operations, with itineraries now underway in Greece and the Galapagos Islands aboard two new ships.
The first vessel to launch was Silver Moon, which made its long-awaited debut on 19 July. The ship will now sail Greece and the Greek Isles from Athens through till early September. Silver Moon is the first of Silversea’s ships to offer S.A.L.T, a unique culinary experience designed to immerse guests in the authentic cuisine and traditions of the region they are exploring.
Silver Moon was followed a day later on 19 July by a second new arrival, the highly-anticipated Silver Origin. The luxurious vessel will remain year-round in the Galapagos Islands and offer a series of 7-night itineraries in the region. Offering stunning all-suite accommodation and a fantastic excursion programme, guests sailing on Silver Origin this summer will be amongst the first to experience Silversea’s first-ever destination-specific ship.
Commenting on the news, Silversea’s President and CEO Roberto Martinoli said:
“With the maiden voyages of these two beautiful ships, we welcome guests to rediscover exotic destinations, cultures, and cuisines in our trademark level of comfort, with impeccable personalised service. These initial sailings will transport guests to our most sought-after destinations in the Greek Isles and the Galapagos Archipelago”.
Next up for Silversea will be a resumption of services in Alaska, along with three new itineraries in Iceland in July aboard Silver Muse and Silver Shadow.
