Cruising Port Davey
Port Davey lies on the southwest coast of Tasmania and gives sea access to the remote and unspoilt Southwest National Park. The Park is a vast wilderness of soaring mountain peaks, temperate rainforests and unspoilt rivers, all largely inaccessible unless you&re a keen bushwalker. It is home to some of the world's last virgin temperate rainforest and several endemic tree species. There are also 300 species of lichen, moss and fern and mountains dotted with glacial tarns. Wild rivers and rapids rush through deep gorges and spectacular waterfalls plunge over cliffs.
