Located 15 minutes away from the city centre, the port of Funchal is a classic Mediterranean port, where calm crystal blue seas bobs gently under a backdrop of emerald green hills and mountains.
There isn’t that much to do around the port itself, so it’s worth venturing into the city if you want to explore a bit further than the waterfront. Popular attractions include ‘The Workers Market’ which is open 6 days a week (not Saturdays) and the opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of Funchal via cable car.
