Skagen Cruises
Skagen, city (1992 pop. 11,248), Nordjylland co., N Denmark, a port on Skagens Odde peninsula (the Skaw) at the northern end of Jylland and on the Kattegat. It has fisheries, shipyards, and fish canneries and is a popular summer resort.
This is a bustling town perched just below the northern tip of Denmark. Besides being the country's largest fishing port, the harbor has an excellent marina with many restaurants serving local fish specialties and beer at outdoor tables. The area is known for its yellow houses, many artists and large migrating sand dunes. The Danes are extremely friendly and love to play host. The combination of this unique air of hospitality and Skagen's location in the middle of the "ocean" between the Norwegian and the Swedish coasts, goes a long way to explain why the harbor is filled to capacity all summer.
