Foreign visitors, who were not permitted on the island until 1980, are nowwelcomed and delighted by the scenic beauty and historical treasures of Xiamen. Visit the famous Jimei Academic Villagelocated in the northern section of the island. Known as the home of TanKah Kee, the museum features bronze statues and pottery from the Mingand Qing dynasties.
