Alaska
Jenni | @cruisemummyblog | Website
Known for its famous outdoor adventures and incredible landscapes, Jenni from @cruisemummyblog mentioned, “The one destination that tops my cruise bucket list has to be Alaska. Firstly, the landscapes in Alaska are like nothing else. The mountains, forests and glaciers look incredible, and I’m sure that they’d look even more impressive in real life. For me, the wildlife is also a major draw. I love the idea of spotting whales and seals from the ship. The excursions in Alaska look incredible, and I’d love to go on a trip to spot bears and ball eagles in the wild. I really like hiking, and now that my kids are a little older, it’s making excursions that include long walks, kayaking, or even dog-sledging more of an option for us. And let’s not forget the Northern Lights. I’ve always dreamed of seeing this natural light show, and an Alaskan cruise might give me a chance to tick that off my list.
Sydney, Australia
Amber | @cruisewithamber | Youtube
Known for its yacht-studded harbour and superb beaches, Amber chose her ultimate bucket list destination: Sydney, Australia. She said, “Sailing into Sydney Harbour with its iconic panorama of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House is hard to beat. It’s not just the iconic skyline which is the draw for me. Having lived in Sydney for six months back at the turn of the millennium, a return visit is long overdue. The city is such a vibrant and exciting destination – it’s easy to explore. With so much to discover a little further afield, it’s also a wonderful destination for a cruise and stay itinerary.”
French Polynesia
Danielle | @cruisemiss | Youtube
With its overwater bungalows and unparalleled natural beauty, Danielle mentioned her ultimate bucket list destination to be somewhere she has already been before, kind of! She said, “I sailed here several years ago, but sadly, bad weather meant we couldn’t reach any of these places, so they’re still on my bucket list. The idea of idyllic beaches and crystal clear waters is a massive draw for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had the pleasure of such places in the likes of the Maldives and Seychelles, but the South Pacific has always been somewhere I wanted to see. I’d had so many amazing things planned there, and not a single one happened – I think when you feel ‘cheated’, you’ll never settle until you make it back and do what you’d intended.”
Antarctica
Matthew | @cruisingwithmjg | Youtube
Matthew from @cruisingwithmjg believes Antarctica is the most extraordinary destination for his bucket list. He said “Antarctica is my ultimate bucket list destination. It feels like one of the last areas of the world that is unspoilt, utterly remote and gives you the chance to be humbled by the awesome power of mother nature. I think I’d even enjoy sailing through the infamous Drake Passage, as it’d be like I was retracing the Antarctic explores of old!”
Greenland
Tom and Dom| @TomandDomTravel | Youtube
Greenland is the largest island on Earth, encompassing vast expanses of awe-inspiring glaciers and an abundance of wildlife, which is why Tom and Dom picked this destination as their bucket list destination. They stated, “We are intrigued by the wonder of this landscape with its wooden homes, traditional harbours and passing icebergs, all creating a unique way of life. The stunning natural landscape of Greenland does not have a road network, so cruising provides a unique way to experience this icy landscape whilst keeping an eye out for the abundance of wildlife.”
Iceland
Ant and Dick | @AntandDick | Youtube
As regular travellers, Ant and Dick have been lucky enough to see many different destinations. Though, Iceland is one destination that remains on their bucket list. They mentioned, “Iceland is not only because of the beautiful landscape, the people and the experiences but also because there is a real possibility of seeing the Northern Lights too, something that has eluded on other cruise trips such as with the Fjords. Merging Iceland with the possibility of seeing those spectacular lights it something we just have to tick off our list!”
Panama Canal
David and Kayleigh | @cruisewithdandk | Youtube
It was a close tie between the Panama Canal and Alaska, but David and Kayleigh ultimately chose Panama Canal to be their top destination on their bucket list. They said, “The Panama Canal is a remarkable example of early 20th-century maritime engineering, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. There are very few destinations which offer such a unique experience, combining breathtaking views and the opportunity to marvel at the sheer scale of the engineering achievement. We would love to do a full transit of the canal travelling from Miami to LA or vice versa!”
Lois | @LoisNoCruiseControl | Youtube
Lois also said that her bucket list destination would be the Panama Canal, stating, “A Panama Canal transit Cruise is on my cruising bucket list. I’m fascinated by this man-made waterway connecting two of the world’s largest oceans. I’d relax on my balcony admiring this feat of engineering and hoping to catch a glimpse of some of the local wildlife like alligators, monkeys and sloths!
Caribbean
Caroline | @_familycruising | Youtube
Known for its idyllic beaches and sparkling seas, Caroline mentioned that “The Caribbean is my favourite cruise destination. A little tricky to visit when restricted to school holidays, but we booked the Christmas cruise, which adds a special touch! The pure white sands, the glistening inviting turquoise sea, friendly locals and, of course, the hot sunny weather. This is why it is our favourite family cruise destination!”
Japan
Laura | @cruiselifestyl | Youtube
From the diverse scenery to the breathtaking views, Laura from @cruiselifestyl chose Japan as their bucket list destination, stating she wants to “Experience the incredible food and diverse culture the country has to offer. Visiting during the Sakura cherry blossom season would make it extra special.”
