Celebrity Cruises has become the first cruise line to win a Forbes Travel Guide Star Award.
“Forbes Travel Guide is thrilled to announce Celebrity ships as the world’s first Star-Rated resorts at sea”, said CEO Hermann Elger.
“Celebrity has delivered on FTG’s standards time and time again during meticulous incognito inspections, offering guests experiences that rival those at the very best land-based properties. We congratulate Celebrity Cruises on this spectacular and historic accomplishment.”
The Star Award recognises the world’s finest hotels, restaurants and spas and, new for this year, ocean cruises. For more than 65 years, FTG has assessed the standards of hundreds of establishments worldwide – only 20 properties with more than 1,000 rooms have received a Star Award.
Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Flora, Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Summit are among the 20. FTG will assess the rest of the fleet later in the year, with the exception of the small Galapagos ships.
“We always reach for the stars at Celebrity Cruises, and to now be Star-Rated multiple times over is such an incredible honour”, said President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo.
“It’s confirmation that with our resorts at sea, our guests sail on the world’s best oceans to the world’s best places. I want to congratulate the entire Celebrity family, both at sea and shoreside, for this special recognition. I celebrate each and every one of you and thank you for your dedication and commitment to delivering the best vacations at sea.”
