Regent Seven Seas has laid the building blocks for its sixth vessel – the highly anticipated Seven Seas Grandeur.
The keel for Seven Seas Grandeur was laid on Tuesday at the Fincantieri shipyard in Trieste, Italy.
President and CEO Jason Montague was on hand for the keel-laying ceremony, joined by Shipyard Director Gilberto Tobaldi, who said, “Seven Seas Grandeur marks our third collaboration with Regent Seven Seas Cruises.”
“We are proud to partner with such a prestigious cruise line to develop Seven Seas Grandeur, which will be a beautiful model for the future of luxury cruising”, he added.
The vessel will be the third ship in the Explorer-class series, offering all-suite, all-balcony accommodation for 750 guests and featuring seven dining venues, a Culinary Arts Kitchen and Serene Spa & Wellness.
“Since their respective debuts in 2016 and 2020, Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor have delighted discerning luxury travellers from across the world, earning a reputation as the most luxurious ships ever built”, Montague explained.
“Now, Seven Seas Grandeur builds upon Regent’s rich three-decade-long history. Inspired by our heritage, this will be a ship that harmonises elegance, comfort, freedom and choice”, he continued.
During the ceremony, three custom-minted coins were placed onto the keel, each representing one of the three ships. The line said the coins would forever remain embedded within the ship’s structure, bringing luck to all who sail aboard.
The new ship will begin her inaugural season in November 2023 with a 14-night magnificent crossing from Barcelona to Miami. Prices start at £6,059 for a Veranda Suite, based on two guests sharing.
Throughout her maiden season, she will offer cruises to the Caribbean and Mediterranean, ranging from seven to 16 nights and including two transatlantic crossings.
