Small Ships, Big Experiences

Windstar’s fleet has two distinctive ship styles, each offering a unique take on small-ship cruising.

The Wind Class yachts—Wind Spirit, Wind Star, and Wind Surf—evoke the romance of classic sailing with their graceful billowing sails. Accommodating between 148 and 342 guests, these elegant vessels blend modern comforts with timeless maritime traditions. Expect well-appointed accommodations, expansive open decks, and an intimate yet spacious setting that makes the most of their stunning design.

The Star Class ships—Star Breeze, Star Legend, and Star Pride—deliver a contemporary luxury yacht experience while maintaining Windstar’s signature relaxed style. Following a $250 million upgrade under the Star Plus Initiative, these 312-guest ships now feature new restaurants, boutique shopping, and 50 beautifully designed new suites.

In late 2025, the fleet will welcome a fourth Star Class ship, Star Seeker. Designed for just 224 guests, this new addition will introduce an all-new speciality restaurant and innovative suite accommodations, most with private balconies or floor-to-ceiling ‘Infinity’ windows.

Life Onboard a Windstar Ship

From the moment you step aboard a Windstar ship, you’ll be welcomed by a friendly crew dedicated to making your journey unforgettable. With no formal nights, crowds, or queues, the atmosphere is refreshingly relaxed and unpretentious.

Between immersive shore excursions and world-class dining, you can spend your days exactly as you choose—indulging in spa treatments, unwinding at a Signature Onboard BBQ, or making the most of complimentary water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding from the ship’s marina.

Every stateroom and suite offers ocean views, ensuring you have front-row seats as the ship sails into port. Picture yourself on your private balcony as your yacht glides into Monte Carlo, navigates Alaska’s wildlife-rich Inside Passage, or anchors beside a secluded Caribbean island, ready for another day of adventure.

A World of Destinations

Windstar’s small ships unlock a world of travel possibilities. Alongside classic voyages to the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and the Caribbean, itineraries extend to Alaska, Canada & New England, and Central America.

A standout for many is Windstar’s French Polynesia cruises. Having sailed in Tahiti for over 35 years, the line offers year-round departures that showcase the beauty of the Society Islands, Tonga, and beyond.

Thanks to their smaller size, Windstar’s ships access ports and harbours that are unreachable by larger vessels. This allows for a perfect blend of must-see cities and hidden gems. One day, you could be exploring Rome’s ancient wonders, and the next, strolling along Nice’s sun-soaked promenade.

Many itineraries also include a Destination Discovery Event, offering exclusive, locally inspired experiences. Enjoy dinner under the stars amid the ruins of Ephesus, a private beach BBQ in Tahiti complete with Polynesian fire dancers, or a cultural performance at Iceland’s iconic Blue Church in Seyðisfjörður.

Windstar Cruises in 2025/2026

2025 is one of the most exciting years in Windstar Cruises’ history, with the arrival of a new ship, Star Seeker, in the winter. This striking 224-guest vessel promises to elevate the Windstar experience, offering enhanced dining options and stunning all-ocean-view accommodations, adding another level of luxury and small-ship comfort. Meanwhile, the popular Winter in the Mediterranean programme will return in 2025, with sailings beginning in October. This allows travellers to explore iconic Mediterranean cities like Rome, Barcelona, and Athens at a traditionally quieter time of year. View Windstar Cruises 2025.

Looking ahead to 2026, Windstar Cruises will begin the year with Star Seeker’s inaugural season in the Caribbean, following a maiden voyage from Málaga to Miami. New for 2026, Windstar will offer fifteen new European voyages, with the standout likely to be a Solar Eclipse itinerary around Iceland, departing from Reykjavik. In Asia, guests will have the chance to explore further than ever, with new Japan cruise tours featuring visits to Mount Fuji and Kyoto, while the new Signature Expeditions in Alaska will provide ample opportunities to explore the Inside Passage by kayak and RIB boat.
