New photos of P&O Cruises Britannia
On March 10th 2015, Her Majesty the Queen, accompanied by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, officially named P&O Cruises new flagship Britannia in a glittering ceremony in which a bottle of British Wiston Estate Brut NV was broke against the hull of the 143,000 ton cruise ship.
The ceremony was hosted by actor, comedian and TV presenter Rob Brydon who not only features in P&O Cruises latest advertising campaign, but who is also as funny and charming in the flesh as he is on TV. There were performances by the Royal Marines Band Service, Band of the Irish Guards, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, a Strictly Come Dancing cameo show and a superbly powerful performance by English Soprano Laura Wright – in all it was an absolutely splendid ceremony and went entirely without a hitch.
There were several celebrities spotted, including P&O Cruises Food Heroes: Olly Smith, Marco Pierre White, James Martin, Eric Lanlard and Atul Kochhar. Linda Robson was also there along with Nikki Clarke, Aneeka Rice, Darcy Bussell, Tess Daly, Judith Chalmers and a few others.
